- Service information — the type of pest issue, property details, photos you choose to send, scheduling preferences, and notes about prior treatments.
- Communication preferences and consent — whether you have opted in to receive text messages from us, and the date, time and method by which you gave that consent.
- Billing information — amounts owed and paid. Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.

- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 6.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, biometric data, precise geolocation, or health information.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to inspection, quote and service requests you submit;
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule and perform pest control and wildlife exclusion services;

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to data brokers.
4. SMS / text messaging & mobile data
If you provide your mobile number and give express written consent — by checking the SMS consent box on our website form, by signing a service agreement that contains the same disclosure, or by texting us first — we may send you text (SMS/MMS) messages related to your service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as our messaging provider and customer service platform, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
What we text you about
- Appointment confirmations, reminders, and technician arrival windows;
- Quote and estimate follow-ups on requests you submitted;
- Service completion summaries and treatment follow-up instructions;
- Billing, invoice and payment notifications; and
- Replies to questions you send us by text.
Consent, frequency and cost
- Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase of any goods or services.
- Message frequency varies based on your service activity — typically fewer than 6 messages per month.
- Message and data rates may apply, according to your plan with your mobile carrier.
How to opt out
You can cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, we will send one final confirmation message and will not send you further texts unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP, call 619.249.4078, or email mitchell@alpinepestdefense.com.
Full messaging program terms, including carrier disclaimers, are set out in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only in the limited circumstances below:
- Service providers / subcontractors. Vendors that operate our business on our behalf — for example our SMS/messaging provider, email provider, scheduling and CRM software, website host, and payment processor. These vendors may use the information only to perform services for us, under contract, and may not use it for their own marketing.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, court order, or regulatory request (including California pest control regulators), or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Alpine Pest Defense, our customers, or the public.
- Business transfer. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to the protections in this policy.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information — for example with a property manager, landlord, HOA, or real estate agent involved in your service.
We never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. As stated in Section 4, text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for any purpose.
6. Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functioning correctly, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; some parts of the site may not function properly if you do. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide services to you and for a reasonable period afterwards to satisfy legal, licensing, tax, warranty and recordkeeping obligations. Records of SMS consent and opt-out requests are retained for as long as we operate the messaging program, and for at least four years afterwards, in order to demonstrate compliance. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access or disclosure — including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and vendors selected for their security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights & choices
- Text messages — reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance.
- Email — use the unsubscribe link in any non-transactional email, or contact us directly.
- Phone calls — tell us during any call and we will add you to our internal do-not-call list.
- Access, correction and deletion — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
10. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and — if applicable — sell or share; the right to request deletion or correction; the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
Alpine Pest Defense does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated by email, text (if you have opted in), or a notice on this website. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
